The first week with new management has definitely been a learning experience! Discovering how to blend American management styles and ideas with the Ugandan way of life is certainly an interesting adventure.
One of our most important tasks is to make sure all our babies are healthy and happy so they will be ready to go home as soon as their mommies and daddies find them. We have had several illnesses this week, but, thankfully, everyone is receiving proper medical treatment and is on the road to recovery. Of particular concern is our little Achandi Agnes. Agnes suffers from epilepsi and currently has Malaria. Needless to say, she is definitely one of our "medically fragile" children, but she is such a happy, obiedient and sweet girl, she hardly even complains. Please pray that Agnes will make a full recovery, will gain back her strenght, and will not suffer any more seizures.
We have some amazing news at the Babies' Home, our little Damian is making huge strides in his transition. He has only been here five days and he is already laughing and playing with the other boys! We really see his progress as a miracle! He is receiving special instruction from Headmaster Robert at the primary school, and he has become fast friends with his new brothers, Amos and Mark. We are thrilled with his incredible progress, and we look forward to the day when he feels totally comfortable at his new home. We love our Damian so much.
